Angry Irritated People

I have noticed that the patience of people is very thin these days.

One day I was waiting at a light to turn green so I could proceed forward at a crosswalk in a hospital zone. A man in a very fancy car started honking at me to go through the red light. This red light was for people walking in the hospital area. There were several people walking in the crosswalk and I could not believe he was honking at me. Because I did not move neither my vehicle nor anyone else move their vehicle, the angry irritated driver became more belligerent and honked at me and stepped on the gas and swerved around me with people in the crosswalk and cars moving in the opposite direction. You can imagine I was stunned and this was at a hospital walking zone entrance. My first reaction was “what a fool act” Lord keeps me safe.

I wondered what made this person show such anger that he had to “show-off” and almost put several cars and people in jeopardy. If he had an emergency, all he had to do was to put on his car emergency flashers. As I neared the next light which was red also to turn into oncoming traffic. I could clearly see, this ungrateful person calmly get out of his car and walk toward the hospital entrance as if nothing had happened.

I guess I was in his way and he did not care who he hurt. I had to forgive the person because I realized there is evil lurking in this world and the spirit of Satan is in full force and if you are a Christian you really have to pack your patience and pray like you have never prayed before.

Nothing in this world is so important that you would risk your life to hurt others. There is one person who came to earth to save us from our wretched sins and His name is Jesus. If we could just act more like Him every day the world would be a better place. Ecclesiastes 7:9 (ESV) says, “Be not quick in your spirit to become angry, for anger lodges in the heart of fools.”
