What is the first thought that comes to mind when you think of joy? It is a joy to write a novel and see it published and on bookstore shelves. When I have studied the word of God and can remember the learned Scriptures verbatim, I can later use them in my ministry. Or when a wonderful life of a newborn baby takes its first breath, and the parents and relatives smile and swoon over a precious life Jehovah has given.
Joy is one of the fruits of the Spirit of God. The Scriptures say, “Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22-23) In the Bible, “joy means a feeling of good pleasure and happiness dependent on who Jesus is rather than on who we are or what is happening around us.”
Joy brings laughter to us when we, as a corporate group of citizens, recognize and worship Jesus as our Savior as we look for His coming to take us to our heavenly home. Read Just the Edge of God
