Asaph was a Levite who was in charge of singing in the house of Jehovah. Throughout the Psalms, his name is displayed as the director at the beginning of the Song of Psalms sung in the Temple.
One of my favorite Psalms is number seventy-seven. Asaph remembers the grace and mercy of Yahweh from past times when He saved the Hebrews from their enemies, especially when God parted the Red Sea.
Yahweh comforts us when we are weary of the world and our circumstances. So often, we as Christians forget that God hears our cries, and when He doesn't answer, we get distressed and think he has forgotten us.
Not so, says Asaph in his lament. Yahweh remembered Asaph and He recalls our despair when we are frightened once we seek His love and comfort. Our spirit will have peace when we reflect and meditate on Holy God's word.
Verse 14-15 "You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples. With our mighty arm, you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph."
Take time this week and pray to Yahweh and peace in your soul during these unsettling times. Click on the landing page to receive my newsletter: https://ardith-arnelle-price-author.ck.page/106574ce58
