As I contemplate the awful chaos at Michigan State University this morning, my thoughts and prayers go out to the families and students impacted by the disorder at my alma mater. I thought of what Jesus said.
“No one knows the day or hour. The angels in heaven don’t know, and the Son himself doesn’t know. Only the Father knows.” (CSV).
Of course, Jesus spoke of his second advent in the quoted Scripture, but His words let us know we must be ready for anything. We have chaos in our world. Our troubled days embody evil every second of the day. Yet, our heavenly Father has given us peace that allows us to rest. Rest in our spirit and soul to serve humanity with an open heart, mind, repentance, and thanksgiving. We must show a relationship with Father God by exhibiting joy, love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We should practice the words of the Holy Spirit and ask the Holy Spirit to help us be more like the third deity of the triune Godhead.
