Hark! Said the Angel

Hark! the herald angels sing, Glory to the newborn King: peace on earth, and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled! Joyful, all ye nations, rise, join the triumph of the skies. With the angelic host proclaim, Christ is born in Bethlehem. Hark, the herald angels sing. Glory to the newborn King.

The musical score came from a Gutenberg Cantata (Festgesang) composed by Felix Mendelssohn in 1840, then later words adapted by Charles Wesley’s Christmas Carol “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” from the scriptures of Luke 2:14. I have been singing the melody in my mind all week. Joy fills my being, and I am glad that Jesus took on our sin and left HIS home in heaven to be with HIS creation and secure our future with HIM in heaven. What a joyful time to know Jesus; because HIS return is near for the Second coming. Jesus will be King over the world for one thousand years, and sin not permitted on the earth. Relish the season of Christ’s conception, not HIS birth, for Jesus was born in the Spring, not December 25th. So as you celebrate, rejoice, for the Holy Spirit came upon Mary to conceive her LORD and Saviour as a baby. Read Just the Edge of God
