Jeremiah 33:2-3(NIV) “This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is his name: Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
Father God had to give Jeremiah a word of truth to let him know what was coming from him. Jerusalem was going to be destroyed by the Babylonians because of God’s wrath against their disobedience and constant idol worship. Jeremiah was God’s mouthpiece, and all the siege ramps Israel built would not keep the Babylonians from breaking through the walls and taking the Israelites into captivity.
The same is happening to our country. We have not obeyed the laws of Almighty God, and we are receiving the passive wrath of God for our idol worship of things not of God, but our attention has been on earthly greed.
As a nation, we must stop and ask for forgiveness and pray. If we don’t stop our wicked ways, we will find ourselves swept away into captivity as Israel was by the Babylonians.
